Low Carb Strawberry-Basil Lemon Drop

Okay y'all,

It's the weekend and I wanted a fruity cocktail to enjoy on this HOT summer day (Georgia-heat is something else!). Anyway, I found this recipe that I am about to try.

It's low carb & "sugar free"!

Let me know if you try it and how it turns out!


  • 1 wedge of lemon

  • 1 tsp low carb sweetener

  • 2 fresh strawberries, sliced

  • ½ lemon, sliced and quartered

  • 4 fresh basil leaves

  • 2 tbs lemon juice

  • 2 tbs sugar free sweetening syrup

  • 3 tbs vodka

  • ice cubes

  • extra strawberry, slice of lemon, thin strips of basil, for garnish


  1. Prepared the glass by running a wedge of lemon around the rim, then dipping it in low carb sweetener that has been placed on a small plate.

  2. Make the base of the drink by adding the sliced strawberries, lemon slices, fresh basil leaves, lemon juice and sweetening syrup to a cocktail shaker, then using a muddler to crush everything down.

  3. Add the vodka and some ice cubes, and give everything a good shake. Strain it into the glass, and garnish it before serving.
